Evomi vs FlameProxies: What You Actually Pay Per Gigabyte

A structural comparison of Evomi and FlameProxies residential proxies: published per-GB rates, how Evomi's expert filter multipliers change the effective price, which filters each provider includes, and who should pick which.

Evomi and FlameProxies both sell residential proxies at the low end of the market, and at first glance their headline rates look almost identical. The difference is structural rather than a matter of a few cents: Evomi prices advanced filtering as a bandwidth multiplier on top of the base rate, while FlameProxies includes its equivalents at the flat rate. Once you enable anything beyond plain rotation, the effective cost per usable gigabyte diverges sharply.

This comparison uses both providers' own published figures as of September 2026. Pricing in this market changes, so verify current rates before you commit.

Two honest observations before going further.

Evomi's committed plan is marginally cheaper than FlameProxies' flat rate — $0.49 against $0.50. If your volume is predictable, you sit on their 100GB plan, and you never touch an advanced filter, Evomi is a cent cheaper per gigabyte. That is a real result and worth stating plainly.

On pay-as-you-go the gap is large. $0.99 against $0.50 is roughly double, and FlameProxies applies its rate from the first gigabyte with no minimum and no subscription.

What it takes to reach the advertised rate

This is worth separating out, because the headline number and the number most buyers actually pay are not the same.

Evomi's residential product page is titled "Buy Rotating Residential Proxies from $0.49/GB", and the same figure appears in their meta description. The table further down that page sets out what the word "from" is doing:

So the advertised $0.49/GB is reachable one way: commit to $49.99 a month for 100GB. Sign up without a subscription and the rate is $0.99/GB — twice the headline. The "from" qualifier is doing real work, and the figure a no-commitment buyer actually pays is not the figure on the page title.

FlameProxies advertises $0.50/GB, and $0.50/GB is what a buyer pays. No subscription, no monthly minimum, no volume threshold to unlock the rate, and bandwidth that does not expire. Above 1TB it drops to $0.45/GB.

The practical difference for a buyer comparing the two:

  • Advertised rate: $0.49 Evomi, $0.50 FlameProxies — effectively a tie
  • Rate without a subscription: $0.99 Evomi, $0.50 FlameProxies — FlameProxies is half
  • Rate you can get on your first gigabyte: Evomi's PAYG needs 15GB before $0.99 applies; FlameProxies is $0.50 from GB one

None of this is concealed — Evomi publishes the table, and quoting a lowest available rate with a "from" is ordinary practice across the industry. The point is narrower: if you are comparing headline numbers in a spreadsheet, you are comparing $0.49 against $0.50 and concluding they are equivalent, when the rate available to you without a monthly commitment is double.

Where the structural difference is

Evomi's advanced targeting lives behind what they call expert settings: filters that pick an IP on something other than location. Their documentation is explicit about how they are billed:

each expert parameter applies a multiplier to the traffic billed for that request, multipliers add up across parameters, and the total is capped at 15×

The dashboard labels these settings as causing increased bandwidth consumption, which is the accurate description of the mechanism. Evomi is not raising your per-gigabyte price — they are metering one real gigabyte as up to fifteen. The economic effect is the same; the dashboard reports actual and multiplied usage separately, which is fair of them.

FlameProxies has no equivalent mechanism. The generator exposes Connection Speed, Pool tier and UDP as selectable options, and the rate stays $0.50/GB regardless of what you pick.

Capability, feature by feature

This is the comparison that actually matters, and it does not go one way.

Evomi has five filters FlameProxies does not. Fraud score capping, TCP/IP fingerprint selection, ISP targeting, ASN targeting and minimum connection time have no FlameProxies equivalent at any price. If your work genuinely depends on ASN-level selection or on capping Scamalytics fraud scores, Evomi can do something FlameProxies cannot, and that capability is worth more than a per-gigabyte saving. Buy the tool that does the job.

What FlameProxies does is include the four most commonly needed options — low-latency pool selection, larger pools, QUIC and UDP — at no premium. Note also that Evomi's UDP support is marked enterprise only and requires contacting an account manager, so it is not available to a self-serve customer at any multiplier.

What a realistic configuration costs

Take a common setup: you want low-latency IPs, a larger pool, and QUIC enabled. On Evomi that is latency- (2.50×) plus Additional Pool Size (6.00×) plus http3-1 (1.50×), which by their additive rule totals 10×.

All figures are cost per real gigabyte of traffic — the multiplied billing divided by the actual data moved.

The latency-plus-pool-plus-QUIC row is the one to look at, because it is an ordinary configuration rather than a contrived worst case. That setup costs roughly 20× more per usable gigabyte on Evomi's pay-as-you-go rate than the same capability on FlameProxies, or about 10× more on Evomi's committed plan. Above 1TB, where FlameProxies drops to $0.45, the gap widens further.

Where Evomi is genuinely strong

A comparison that finds no merit in the alternative is marketing, not analysis. Evomi's real advantages:

Latency. Proxyway benchmarked Evomi's Core Residential in July 2026 and reported that in the US, UK and EU they had not tested a provider with better latency. That is a credible third-party result from a recognised benchmarker, and it is a genuine point in Evomi's favour.

Documented success rate. Evomi publishes a 99.95% connection success rate and sub-0.5-second average response times.

Filter depth. The five filters listed above are real capability. ASN and ISP targeting in particular are hard to replicate with any workaround.

Session control. Evomi documents session-, hardsession- and lifetime- keys with holds up to 1,440 minutes, with hard sessions prioritising IP stability over success rate. That is unusually granular.

Transparent metering. Separating actual from multiplied usage in the dashboard is the honest way to implement multiplier billing.

Two things to check on their terms rather than assume: the money-back guarantee is capped at 10% of your data allowance or 1GB, whichever is smaller, once per product category — so it is a sampling allowance rather than a broad refund. And the trial on the Core Residential plan is documented as one day.

Where FlameProxies is stronger

Flat pricing. $0.50/GB with every included option enabled, $0.45/GB above 1TB. Nothing multiplies, so your cost projection is your actual bill.

Pay-as-you-go economics. Half Evomi's PAYG rate from the first gigabyte, no subscription, and bandwidth that does not expire.

Pool size and reach. 80M+ IPs across 180+ countries against 54M+ across 150+.

Included performance options. Connection Speed Fast, plus Standard, Performance and Ultra pool tiers, selectable at no extra cost. On Evomi the nearest equivalents carry 2.50× and 6.00×.

Free UDP and QUIC. Both are toggles at the standard rate. Evomi's UDP is enterprise-only with account manager approval.

No throughput or concurrency limits. No cap on requests per second or concurrent sessions, so parallel collection is not throttled by the plan.

Which should you choose

The decision is not really about price per gigabyte. It is about which shape of billing matches your workload.

Choose Evomi if:

  • You need fraud score, TCP/IP fingerprint, ISP, ASN or minimum-connection-time filtering. This is the decisive case — FlameProxies does not offer these at all.
  • Your volume is predictable enough to sit on the 100GB committed plan, and you run plain rotation without filters. At $0.49/GB you save a cent.
  • Latency in the US, UK or EU is your single binding constraint and you want the benchmark leader.
  • You want very fine-grained session lifetime control.

Choose FlameProxies if:

  • You want low latency, larger pools, QUIC or UDP without a bandwidth multiplier.
  • You buy pay-as-you-go, where $0.50 against $0.99 is roughly half.
  • You run above 1TB, where $0.45/GB applies.
  • You need predictable cost forecasting, because multiplied billing makes spend hard to model in advance.
  • You need UDP on a self-serve account.
  • You are running high requests-per-second workloads and do not want throughput limits.

A practical test either way: work out which filters your targets actually require before comparing rates at all. Teams routinely enable filters defensively, discover they were unnecessary, and pay a multiplier for months. Start with plain rotation, add one filter at a time, and measure whether success rate actually moves. That discipline saves more money than either provider's pricing page.

Verify before you buy
